On Painting (which is sononomus with making things)

My relationship to Painting* is that it's key elements are Space , Relationship , and Emotions. It's about a space that is neutral.(?) Empty? How the acknowlege ment or birth of meaning creates a knowlege of a sensation about non meaning. How the entrance or introduction of an object into this space effects change. This meeting is dynamic. This dynamisim changes everything. A cyclic repeating unfolding of births and deaths, forming and erasure. When the spaces juxtapose emotion or the emotions juxtapose space an intuitive relationship emerges. One that gives shape to form and takes form from shape. These elements are experiencing each other. They're watching you watching them*. On one level they reflect the nature of these experiences dictated by the limits of the spaces they and you occupy. On another level they reflect the nature of the personality of the place maker/marker. On another level they reflect a open system of repetition within a closed system of a rational ordering device which allowes you to experience an intuitive process of an unfolding field of chaos and order within which you now occupy a place. You are experiencing the residue or trace of an event.




Art products are vessles left behind to document and express the shifting motion of the spirit of life that passes through us. when we look at an artifact as a recording we are locked in a interpretation of history and its effect on the future. when we recognize it as an expression of the macrocosim and the micro cosim of that of spirit or entity we disengage from the field of time and open up and disengage meaning. the artifact encourages a non spontanious existence. the entity expresses a state like dreaming which is spontanious dynamisim, unforced and silent*
